The Gateway Center began as a prayer that took place over many seasons. Jamestown needed a place to house the organizations linking to help people throughout the Chautauqua Region. Through the generous help of many individuals, the Chautauqua Hardware Building on Water Street was purchased and became the headquarters for A Great Work.
